Civic Center Park
Emily Foos: Civic Center Park hosts a variety of festivals and outdoor events during the spring and summer months. This is a photo taken from the 2011 Denver Pridefest parade. This is a two day event produced by the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of Colorado (The Center) and takes place annually in June in Civic Center Park. It features the PrideFest Parade, a Dance Stage with DJs, a Country Stage with line-dancing lessons, a Latin Stage with cultural programming, and a Main Stage with live entertainment. The festival also features more than 250 vendor booths with arts, crafts, food and more. A VIP area is also provided with food and drinks for sponsors and contributors to enjoy, and there's also a family area, youth alley, and a transgender resource area. The LGBT community definitely knows how to have fun and accomplish their mission to promote the heritage and culture of the LGBT and allied community in Colorado. Denver PrideFest is now the fourth largest pride festival, and seventh largest pride parade in the United States. #CapitolHill #GoldenTriangle #Uptown
Civic Center Park
Emily Foos: Civic Center Park hosts a variety of festivals and outdoor events during the spring and summer months. This is a photo from the 2011 Moonlight Classic. For those who have not been out to experience this one (as a rider or a bystander,) it is quite a sight & definitely something to check out! The event is typically held in July and is a 10-mile non-competitive late night bicycle ride that runs from around 8pm till about 2am. With the support of the City of Denver and the Denver Police Department, the course is closed to automobile traffic allowing participants to ride safely on city streets. It begins and ends at the Colorado State Capitol, taking cyclists through Denver’s historic neighborhoods, including the business district, Lower Downtown, Congress Park, and the Cherry Creek shopping district! Participants are benefitting the InnovAge Foundation to help increase awareness and support of programs that allow aging individuals to live independently and with dignity in their own homes and communities. #CapitolHill #GoldenTriangle #Uptown #LoDo #BakerNeighborhood #LincolnPark
Capitol Complex
Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception
Emily Foos: With some of the most beautiful architecture in the city, the cathedral (located on Colfax just east of the Capitol building) is a must see whether you're just visiting or have lived here your whole life. And photographers, bring your cameras at sunrise or sunset for some almost guaranteed awesome shots! #CapitolHill #Uptown
World Trade Center Denver
Emily Foos: Located in Denver's Central Business District, the World Trade Center towers are two of the tallest buildings in the city. Housing numerous consulates, government & private offices, as well as the World Trade Center Denver office, these buildings serve as a hub for Denver's international community. #CapitolHill #Uptown #GoldenTriangle #LoDo
Watercourse Foods
Emily Foos: Watercourse, on 17th & Emerson, is my absolute FAVORITE restaurant! They offer an almost entirely vegan menu (with the exception of a few sauces that are made with some dairy products.) I've had both lunch and dinner there & every visit has been a great experience. The food is delicious (very much worth trying, even for you vegan skeptics out there!) They offer a great selection of wine & beer, and everything is very reasonably priced. #Uptown
