Auraria Campus Bookstore
Emily Foos: Auraria Bookstore, located on the first and second levels in the Tivoli Student Union, has more to offer than just textbooks! They offer loads of computer related items, including laptops (remember the student discount on Apple products,) electronics, cables, externals, bags, and misc accessories. You will also find a large selection of art supplies & accessories, a wide variety of office/school supplies to fit the needs of virtually any student. And if you are a student of any the three schools on campus (Community College of Denver (CCD,)University of Colorado at Denver (UCD,) or Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU,)) and you want to show your school spirit the bookstore offers a wide variety of apparel, accessories, and other memoribilia bearing your schools colors and logo. Oh, and of course they carry TEXTBOOKS!! #LocalBooks
Confusious Institute
Auraria Campus
Kalamath St & W 10th Ave
Emily Foos: Great piece of street art in an alley near 10th Ave & Kalamath St. It depicts one of my favorite authors, Charles Bukowski. The quote says, "We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us.” #LincolnPark #StreetArt

Auraria Library
Emily Foos: Centrally located on campus, the Auraria Library offers students a wealth of information and a variety of options when it comes to study methods & student needs/wants. It consists of two levels (on the first floor you'll find computers & a coffee shop..talking and cell phones are allowed, within reasonable limits of course....on the second floor, you'll find books and students with their noses in them..silence is golden!) #campustour
Auraria Media Center
Opal Restaurant
Emily Foos: The sign says "Nouveau American Restaurant." If you have no idea what that mean, then you're not alone! Opal is a sushi restaurant/bar/lounge/awesome place to eat, drink, enjoy some music and sake, and even learn to dance (they offer salsa lessons on Friday nights.) Get together with some friends for late night happy hour in the bar area (couch seating) before you hit one of the many clubs within walking distance (and make sure you try the 'Opal roll'....don't ask, just order it!) #GoldenTriangle
Capitol Hill Books
Sputnik
Emily Foos: If you like cool little hole in the wall hipster bars, then Sputnik is the place to be! They've got a full bar (with PBR on tap here people!) an coffee/espresso bar, as well as a menu with some very tasty vegan food (don't worry, they have meat too for you carnivores out there!) #BakerNeighborhood

Strings
Emily Foos: No set of photos of places located in the City Park West neighborhood would be complete without one of Strings. The restaurant has been managed by Tammy Cunningham since her husband, restaurateur and philanthropist Noel Cunningham, committed suicide Dec. 1, 2011. After nearly 27 years in business though, Strings finally closed its doors for good on April 30, 2013. #CityParkWest
The Broker Restaurant
Shotgun Willie's
Emily Foos: Shotgun Willie's....they are Denver's number one gentleman's club...they've been in business for around 30 years now...they've got 8 different stages (one with a swing..yep, a swing,) floor to celing poles in the bar area (a few of the stages also have poles,) and of course there's the cushy chairs along the back wall where you can have your favorite girl all to yourself (for a price of course..)...they employ 200+ entertainers (on a Saturday night, you're likely to see at least 30 different girls in the stage rotation!)...they have a cigar lounge area...they pour good drinks (don't be cheap.tip your servers and bartenders!)...they have good food (seriously!..try their mexican!) the food reasonably priced, plus they offer daily specials for lunch and dinner...Sunday night-service industry night...Thursday night-burlesque...Friday night-girls wear evening gowns (well, at least until it's RODEO time!!) #Belcaro #CherryCreek

World Trade Center Denver
Emily Foos: Located in Denver's Central Business District, the World Trade Center towers are two of the tallest buildings in the city. Housing numerous consulates, government & private offices, as well as the World Trade Center Denver office, these buildings serve as a hub for Denver's international community. #CapitolHill #Uptown #GoldenTriangle #LoDo
Denver Country Club
Emily Foos: If you're walking or riding the path that runs along the river, you'll get a little detour away from the water when get to the area that is east of Downing St and west of University Blvd. That entire length of the fence/wall separating the countey club from 1st Ave, however, is a treat to walk along. The whole thing is lined with greenery, including these lilac bushes that run for about a half block on either side of the entrance to the country club. They smell great when they are in bloom! #DenverCountryClub
Denver Pavilions
Newhouse Hotel
Emily Foos: Although the name refers to this place as a 'hotel,' it is not exactly a place where people on vacation might stay. It is often difficult to get a room here, as many remain booked by long term residents in need of an inexpensive place to stay. The Newhouse is located directly across from the Capitol building on the corner of Grant St and Colfax Ave. Playboy Magazine once called Colfax the "longest, wickedest street in America." As a native of Colorado, I will say that it definitely takes a certain kind of person to stay or live on (or near) East Colfax for any length of time...personally, I love it! But just keep in mind, it's not for everyone. #CapitolHill

Mayan Theatre
Emily Foos: The Mayan Theatre is classic!! I remember my dad telling me stories of seeing movies here here back in highschool! They show mostly independant films these days (and the occasional 3D porn film)..yes, I said 3D porn film! I saw one here probably 15 years ago! The theatre was sold out, and the film was a horrible one from the 80's. Good times!! #BakerNeighborhood

Grace Gallery
Emily Foos: Most of the Lincoln Park area is characterized by a lot of public and street art. It seems to be everywhere you go! This is painted on the side of the building that houses the Grace Gallery (in the Santa Fe art district.) They've got some very cool public art there! #LincolnPark #StreetArt
The Central Library
Emily Foos: Denver Public Library, Central Branch, 5th floor, western geneology...by far my favorite area in the library (and it is HUGE!) The 5th floor is quiet, there are windows everywhere (and the view is pretty cool, especially at night,) there are tables if you need to sprawl out and study, and there are comfy chairs if you just want to relax and read. If you are interested in the history of the west, they have some awesome artifacts and displays on this floor that are always changing. #LocalBooks

Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception
Emily Foos: With some of the most beautiful architecture in the city, the cathedral (located on Colfax just east of the Capitol building) is a must see whether you're just visiting or have lived here your whole life. And photographers, bring your cameras at sunrise or sunset for some almost guaranteed awesome shots! #CapitolHill #Uptown
Capitol Complex
Tabor Center

Spire
Emily Foos: According to their website, "SPIRE is Denver's best-selling high rise community." I, personally, will not be able to afford to live in one of these "exceptional and sought after" condos anytime soon (the are selling from the low $300,000s!) But I walk by here almost everyday and the SPIRE is a pretty neat looking building (the sequin looking panel is actually all individual pieces that move with even a slight breeze which makes the building sparkle in the sunlight.) They have been working on a redevelopment of the Theatre District area around this building for quite some time now, including the Denver Center for the Performing Arts Complex across the street, which connects to the Denver Convention Center a couple blocks down (the light rail train runs right through the middle, with a station underneath.) There are also a number of new restaurants within just a few blocks, and they have gone crazy builiding new 7-Elevens and Starbucks nearby as well (I'd have to say that, within about a mile radius, I've seen at least five to ten new 7-Elevens open in addition to the two or three already there, and there are at least two or three NEW Starbucks locations within just a couple blocks of the SPIRE building alone!) #LoDo
Niza Knoll Gallery
Emily Foos: Many buildings around the Lincoln Park area and Santa Fe art district have security bars over their windows, but I think these (on the front window of the Knoll Gallery at 9th & Santa Fe) are by far the most creative! It is a very artistic and stylish take on something that is unfortunately very necessary in many neighborhoods these days. #LincolnPark #StreetArt
Wells Fargo Center
Emily Foos: A view of Capitol Hill looking down from the 26th floor of the Wells Fargo Center (the cash register shaped building) on 17th & Lincoln. The gold dome of the Capitol Building (enclosed in a white protective barrier in this photo) has been undergoing rennovations for about two years now. #CapitolHill
First Baptist Church
Emily Foos: The First Baptist Church of Denver, located at 14th Ave & Grant St in the heart of Capitol Hill, is the oldest Baptist congregation in Colorado. The building that stands now was built in the 1930's, but organization of the church itself took place during the Civil War and actually predates the statehood of Colorado. #CapitolHill
561ft2 - Brand New Capitol Hill Units
Emily Foos: These are some pretty cool old apartment buildings. The block between 10th Ave & 11th Ave on Sherman St is called Poets Row. Each of the buildings is named after a famous poet (Eugene Field, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Mark Twain, Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, Louisa May Alcott, Robert Browning, Thomas Caryll, James Russell Lowell) #CapitolHill
Civic Center Park
Emily Foos: Civic Center Park hosts a variety of festivals and outdoor events during the spring and summer months. This is a photo was taken at exactly 4:20pm during the 2011 4/20 Rally. If you have never attended one of these, its quite an experience! And smoking marijuana is not a requirement for attendance, so don't worry if you're not a smoker..this rally is about bringing about awareness in the community and educating people about marijuana (such as how/why it is used, possible and proven health benefits, how it compares to traditional western medicine, the legality of it & what we can do as a community to change unfair laws regarding it.) The Denver Police come out to this rally in mass every year (to help keep the peace-though people here rarely disrupt it, and to help protect the rights of the supporters of the rally.) April 20th at 4:20pm is the one time during the year when it is socially (and legally) acceptable for 1000's of people to gather in front of the state capitol and all light up and smoke together. I've seen the cloud of smoke so thick that the capitol building is barely even visible through it! The sense of togetherness and community on this day is simply amazing! #CapitolHill #GoldenTriangle
Th'ink Tank Tattoo
Emily Foos: Definitely one of the best custom tattoo studios in Denver. If you're idea of getting a tattoo is going in a place, pointing at a picture on the wall, telling whomever happens to be working where you think it would look cool, and walking out an hour later with the same crappy 'artwork' that 10 other people in town have, then this probably isnt the place for you! If you want some high quality, original artwork permanently applied to your body, then stop by and check this place out! Each artist has their own style and tattoos are by appointment only, so if you're just not feeling it here, you can always head up to east colfax later and find a nice rose or sweet ass skull just like the one 'that guy' has! #BakerNeighborhood

York Street Club
Emily Foos: Originally the home of Alcoholics Anonymous Group Number One, The York Street Club was founded in 1948 and is one of the oldest (and longest running in one location) AA clubs/meeting spots still in existence. The mansion is now listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. The noon-time meeting held here are a must if you're an alcoholic serious about sobriety! The old-timers that frequent these meetings have stores that never fail to blow my mind! #CityPark #CongressPark
Calvary Temple
Emily Foos: Just across University Blvd from the country club is the Calvary Temple. This church is HUGE! They've got a really neat fountain out front that looks like a tiny little rock formation. The architecture is great as well. The roof of the main building almost appears to run from that high point on the front corner all the way down to the ground to meet up with roof of the smaller building to the north, which seems to come right out of the ground. I can just imagine the view from inside looking out through all those windows! #DenverCountryClub #CherryCreek #Belcaro

Emily Foos: DU's very awesome music school...when I was in high school, the Lamont School of Music put on a week long camp that offered high school students the opportunity to work with members of the Colorado Symphony. At the end of that week we got to play with the symphony in a concert on the stage at Boettcher Concert Hall. Very cool experience! #UniversityofDenver

Exempla St. Joseph Hospital
Emily Foos: Seems like every time I turn around hospitals are rebuilding, relocating, or just expanding into giant health complexes! The area around St Joes is no exception..they are doing some major construction, but this building still stands as it has for over 100 years (for now anyways...the new hospital is scheduled to open in December 2014) #CityParkWest
Chamberlin Observatory
Near E 8th Ave & Adams St
Emily Foos: Every neighborhood has at least one house that obviously belongs to a junk collector or maybe a scrapper or a dumpster diver. With a house like this, the Congress Park neighborhood takes the cake on having the best one! Not only is it a duplex, but its painted bright blue and yellow & the little treasures here cover virtually every inch of space out in the yard, and in the bushes, and on the porch, and along the side of the house, and even across the sidewalk along the street! It's AWESOME!! #CongressPark

Emily Foos: This is one of the larger food banks in Denver. They require you to make an appointment (sometimes several days away) to come get food from them! I have, however seen people walk out of here pushing shopping carts FULL of food, so that's pretty awesome! You know, they say that if you're hungry in Denver, then you're not paying attention! Dial 211 on your phone to be put in touch with the Mile High United Way. The very nice (and VERY helpful) ladies who answer will assist you in finding food banks, clothing banks, hot breakfast/lunch/dinner lines, housing & utility payment assistance, etc.. #CityParkWest

Emily Foos: Watercourse, on 17th & Emerson, is my absolute FAVORITE restaurant! They offer an almost entirely vegan menu (with the exception of a few sauces that are made with some dairy products.) I've had both lunch and dinner there & every visit has been a great experience. The food is delicious (very much worth trying, even for you vegan skeptics out there!) They offer a great selection of wine & beer, and everything is very reasonably priced. #Uptown
